A proof of origin, a suggestion of intent. But trust is fragile. So we built control. Observation became necessary. Verification unavoidable. We bound every action to a name. Every name to a credential. And then we connected it all. Identity became the perimeter. Data, the asset. Behavior, the intent. Together, their context shaped intelligence. Systems that could see, learn, and adapt. They gave us possibility, power, precision. But every connection carried consequence. And when trust falters, those same systems can turn against us. It depends on hundreds of systems operating perfectly. And in that instant, trust collapses. Identity is extremely fragile. It's a house of cards. Not just a breach, a system collapse. If I can't log in, nobody can do anything. Yet within that challenge lies unbounded opportunity. This AI is the moment where I think we can change the relationship with the business. To rebuild trust, not as control, but as understanding. What does good look like? And therefore, how do we measure that appropriately in security? Governance is what we say about how we make decisions and get things done. And then culture is what really happens. This is The Watchtower.
