In November of 2023, the Blaine County School District experienced a cyber attack. You have to remember that during a cyber event, technology is affected everywhere. A school district can't do business without technology. You can't process work orders, you can't unlock doors, you can't put your curriculum on a projector. Nothing can happen without technology. And during a cyber attack, everything stops. All of it. The users at the end of it, all they noticed was their active directory password was changed. On Monday morning, that was it. It was miraculous. Downtime in our business can mean we're throwing away product, we're wasting components that go into our food, and we just can't have that. So uptime reliability is important. And as you look at it from a security perspective, you know, those unplanned downtimes just need to be avoided. Cohesity protects not only within our core carpeted space, but out on the shop floor. I'm real happy with the CERT team. We got exposed to them really more proactively. Obviously a team we never want to have to call, but knowing that is available to us, that we can run ideas past is important. It's just another data point. The Citizen Potawatomi Nation cares quite a bit about their culture. Culture is what makes a people. As a tribal member and an employee of Citizen Potawatomi Nation, it's extremely important for me to make sure that our data, our culture, our history is protected and available when the next generation comes and wants to learn. Cohesity has been a great partner to us because they provide a service that makes me feel like we have the ability to give back to our generations that will come after us. Without our language, without our history, we're not really a people. We are an organization born out of service, and that service is to each child, making sure each child's needs are met. Data security, information security, and just making data-driven decisions is vital to any healthcare system and certainly vital for us. With a cyber attack, if we were locked out of our systems, we would not be able to take care of the kids' needs. And being able to watch the kids and what they are going through and what they have overcome, I mean, it kind of humbles you too.

  • Multiple organizations across education, manufacturing, tribal government, and healthcare sectors share how Cohesity enables cyber resilience and rapid recovery from attacks.
  • Blaine County School District recovered from a November 2023 cyber attack so effectively that users only noticed a password change by Monday morning.
  • Customers emphasize that downtime is not an option—schools can't operate without technology, manufacturers waste product, and healthcare systems can't deliver patient care during outages.
