vendors are trying to catch up to you guys is the security piece. You know with a lot of the other providers you had to have a bolt-on security solution that was separate from the SD-WAN solution and Versa offered a platform that had both of those wrapped in the same stack and the same equipment and you could run all of your configurations and of your network and your security kind of in unison and the management of those features I mean and being able to separate the that single point of ingress egress security you know where everything's got to flow through this one hub and now we can actually spread that out to each branch individually and it kind of spread our attack surface out and was able to micro segment our branches which you know in the case of a breach we would be a lot less impacted in that scenario versus if we had everything kind of flowing through one one point.

TL;DR

  • Versa's integrated platform combines SD-WAN and security in a single stack, eliminating the need for separate bolt-on security solutions that competitors require.
  • Unified management allows network and security configurations to be handled together through the same equipment, simplifying operations and reducing complexity.
  • Distributed branch security replaces centralized hub architectures, spreading the attack surface and enabling micro-segmentation at each location.

Summary

This customer testimonial from ADCS highlights the strategic value of Versa Networks' integrated approach to SD-WAN and security. The speaker emphasizes that Versa's key differentiator is delivering security capabilities natively within the SD-WAN platform, eliminating the need for bolt-on security solutions that other vendors require. This unified architecture enables organizations to manage network and security configurations through a single stack and equipment set, streamlining operations significantly. The customer specifically values the ability to distribute security enforcement to individual branch locations rather than funneling all traffic through a centralized hub. This architectural shift spreads the attack surface across micro-segmented branches, substantially reducing the blast radius in the event of a security breach. The testimonial positions Versa as ahead of competitors who are still working to achieve similar integration, suggesting meaningful market differentiation in the converged networking and security space.

Key Quotes

0:00 "I think the biggest piece of value that Versa added and I think a lot of other vendors are trying to catch up to you guys is the security piece."
0:14 "With a lot of the other providers you had to have a bolt-on security solution that was separate from the SD-WAN solution."

FAQ

How does Versa's approach to security differ from other SD-WAN vendors?

Unlike competitors that require separate bolt-on security solutions, Versa integrates security directly into the SD-WAN platform. This means network and security configurations run on the same stack and equipment, enabling unified management rather than coordinating between disparate systems.
