I am so excited to be here with Yitzi. Yitzi, welcome to our very first episode. I'm super excited to be here, Kelsey. We have a ton of exciting new features to talk about that would let teams use AI, but do it in a safe and secure manner. Today on the docket, we've got a new browser extension to see and protect data entering AI in real time, a data lineage map to track files even when AI agents are the ones moving them, automatic data categories so security and business teams finally speak the same language, a live privacy inventory that replaces manual scavenger hunts with actual intelligence, and an AI bridge to analyze data and automate workflows using plain language. Okay, let's start with the browser. I have Gemini and Jack GPT open in at least five tabs right now. And I know you said you were building a really cool app in Lovable. How does Browser Shield protect us? Well, most security professionals don't even know what AI tools are being used in their organization. So we provide a full list with all AI tools in use. So then what? Can I do whatever I want in those tools now that you know what I'm using? Well, if a tool isn't managed by the company, that means that every prompt you enter will help educate the tool. So we wouldn't want you to put in confidential information. So what Browser Shield will do, it'll either alert you or even block the prompt from being entered into that LLM. Now even if you're using a tool managed by the company, we still want to make sure that you aren't using it in an unapproved way, such as insider information or unethical use. Okay, so we've got the browser sorted. What about tracking our data's movement? Files get downloaded, renamed and shared all day long, even by AI. So that's where data lineage comes in. Security logs usually show isolated events. We've connected the dots. We show you a graph of a file's entire journey. When it was created, who copied it, where it went, and every AI tool that it touched. So you have complete context during investigations. And we're changing how we categorize that data too, right? Right. With classification topics, we're adding a layer on top of granular data classes, bundling them together into business concepts, like pricing strategy or product formula. This also streamlines security operations. Policy enforcement and remediation become so much easier. Let's talk privacy. We're not just adding a feature here. We've got a full platform now, don't we? Absolutely, Kelsey. We've got the full platform. Sierra Privacy is built on continuous data discovery, pulling directly from what's actually in your environment. No more added date spreadsheets. So when a data subject request comes in, or I need to update my data map. It's all live. DSRs are automated end-to-end. Your data map updates as systems and datas change. Assessments come pre-filled with real data context. Consent signals get enforced automatically across your digital properties. And Cypher Privacy lets you ask questions and kick off actions through plain language. So we found the data, we've classified it. How do we use AI to help us operationalize it? So that's where Sierra MCP comes in. Think of it as a permission slip that lets your AI assistants, like Clawd, Copilot, or Cursor, plug directly into Sierra's data intelligence. It makes everything Sierra knows available inside the tools your team is already using today. So I can bring Sierra's insights directly into my existing workflow? Exactly. You can ask Clawd to build a custom report or even run a complex investigation by correlating Sierra's data with signals coming from your sim. It's about making security operations AI native by putting Sierra's brain everywhere your team works. Okay. So cool. Tons of exciting stuff coming. The message is clear. In an AI-driven world, security has to move as fast as the data. Yitzhi, thank you so much for being here with me today. This was fun. I had a blast. Thanks for having me, Kelsey. Thanks so much for tuning in to the first episode of The Landing. As always, our product team has been hard at work. For a full list of what's new and a more technical deep dive on everything we covered today, check out sierra.com slash the landing and tune in next time.

TL;DR

  • Browser Shield inventories AI tools in use, monitors prompts for policy violations, and blocks sensitive data from entering unmanaged AI platforms in real-time.
  • Data Lineage for Files provides a complete graph view of file movement, tracking creation, copying, sharing, and AI tool interactions for investigation context.
  • Cyera Privacy automates data subject requests end-to-end, maintains live data maps, and enforces consent signals across digital properties without manual spreadsheets.

Summary

This product announcement introduces five new capabilities designed to help organizations secure AI usage and the data it touches. Browser Shield provides visibility into AI tool usage across the organization, monitoring prompts in real-time and blocking sensitive data from entering unmanaged AI platforms. Data Lineage for Files tracks the complete lifecycle of files as they move through systems, including interactions with AI tools, creating an investigation-ready view of data movement. Classification Topics adds a business context layer on top of granular data classes, bundling technical classifications into business concepts like pricing strategy or product formulas. Cyera Privacy delivers a unified privacy platform built on continuous data discovery, automating data subject requests and maintaining live data maps. Finally, Cyera MCP enables AI assistants like Claude, Copilot, and Cursor to access Cyera's data intelligence directly within existing workflows, allowing teams to run investigations and build reports using natural language.

FAQ

How does Browser Shield handle AI tools that aren't managed by my company?

Browser Shield will either alert users or block prompts entirely when they attempt to enter confidential information into unmanaged AI tools, preventing sensitive data from being used to train external models.

What makes Cyera Privacy different from traditional privacy management approaches?

Cyera Privacy is built on continuous data discovery that pulls directly from your actual environment, eliminating outdated spreadsheets. Data subject requests are automated end-to-end, data maps update automatically as systems change, and assessments come pre-filled with real data context.
