I really enjoyed Marco's new project, you know, Move, that is a new open source project from VeeamHub and this uses your existing Veeam backend replication restore points to migrate Veeams directly to platforms like Proxmox VA or HPE Veeam Essentials without having to reconnect to your Veeamware environment. Yeah, this is a fantastic way that you can do scaled migrations to four different hypervisors. I think this is really cool. Shout out to the Recap. Marco, this is a really great one. You can watch all of the featured content that we find at the community hub at community.veeam.com as well as here on the Veeam YouTube channel. So be sure to like and subscribe for more.

TL;DR

  • Moov is a new open-source VeeamHub project that enables VM migrations to alternative hypervisors like Proxmox using existing Veeam replication restore points.
  • Migrations can be performed without reconnecting to the source VMware environment, simplifying the transition process significantly.
  • The full episode 271 covers additional topics including RC4 Kerberos deprecation, knowledge transfer, and Veeam Backup & Replication v13.1 architecture.

Summary

This short community recap clip highlights episode 271 of the Veeam Community Recap series, hosted by Rick and Madi. The featured topic is Moov, a new open-source project from VeeamHub created by community contributor Marco. Moov leverages existing Veeam backend replication restore points to migrate virtual machines directly to alternative hypervisor platforms — including Proxmox, HPE VM Essentials, and up to four total hypervisor targets — without requiring reconnection to a VMware environment. This makes Moov a compelling tool for organizations actively evaluating or executing VMware exit strategies. The clip encourages viewers to explore the full episode and all featured community content at community.veeam.com and the Veeam YouTube channel, positioning the community hub as the central destination for practical technical insights, project discoveries, and peer-driven knowledge sharing across the Veeam ecosystem.
