In this video, we'll connect two everyday tools, Slack and Microsoft Outlook, to a Copilot Studio agent, going from setup to a live working agent in just a few simple steps. Let's start by creating the MCP servers, one for Slack, one for Microsoft Graph Mail and Calendar. For each, we connect the remote MCP, setup authentication, and deploy. Once deployed, both the Slack and Outlook MCP servers are ready to use, and AI Gateway is ready to connect to any MCP client, including Microsoft Copilot Studio. Next, we move to Microsoft Copilot Studio. We copy the MCP server URL from AI Gateway and add it as a new tool, connecting it directly. Inside Copilot Studio, we're building an agent called Morning Brief Assist. We add Slack as a tool and authenticate it directly with Sequence AI Gateway. We do the same for Outlook, adding it as a tool and authenticating it with AI Gateway. With both tools added, Slack and Outlook are now connected to the Morning Brief Assist agent and ready to use. We test the agent by asking what tools are available. It responds with everything it can do across Slack, Outlook, and Universal Search – messages, calendars, users, and company documents. Next, we ask the agent to pull next week's meetings, summarize today's schedule, and send that summary to Slack. The agent pulls the meeting data and confirms the summary has been sent to the Slack DM. We ask the agent to also show the summary here, and it displays the exact meeting recap that was sent to Slack. Sequence AI Gateway MCPs work seamlessly across every MCP client, governed and secured at the gateway level.

TL;DR

  • Cequence AI Gateway enables Microsoft Copilot Studio to connect to Slack and Outlook via governed MCP servers, requiring no custom integrations beyond the initial setup.
  • MCP servers for Slack and Microsoft Graph Mail and Calendar are created and deployed directly inside AI Gateway, then linked to Copilot Studio as tools.
  • The Morning Brief Assist agent can retrieve meetings, summarize schedules, and send results to Slack — all through a single governed gateway connection.

Summary

This short product demonstration shows how Cequence AI Gateway enables Microsoft Copilot Studio agents to securely connect to enterprise tools — specifically Slack and Microsoft Outlook — through governed MCP (Model Context Protocol) server connections. The walkthrough covers the full setup flow: creating MCP servers for Slack and Microsoft Graph Mail and Calendar inside AI Gateway, copying the MCP server URL into Copilot Studio as a new tool, and authenticating both integrations directly through the gateway. The resulting agent, called Morning Brief Assist, can query upcoming meetings, summarize a user's daily schedule, and push that summary as a Slack direct message — all without custom integrations or manual per-tool configuration. Every request flows through the AI Gateway, ensuring access is governed and scoped to only what is authorized. The demo concludes by confirming that Cequence AI Gateway MCP connections work consistently across any MCP-compatible client, with security and monitoring enforced at the gateway layer regardless of which client initiates the request.

FAQ

Does connecting Copilot Studio to Cequence AI Gateway require custom integration code?

No. The demo shows that once MCP servers are deployed in AI Gateway, you simply copy the MCP server URL into Copilot Studio as a new tool. Authentication is handled through the gateway, with no custom integration code required.

Which enterprise tools are shown connected in this demo?

The demo connects Slack and Microsoft Outlook (via Microsoft Graph Mail and Calendar) to a Copilot Studio agent through Cequence AI Gateway MCP servers.
