It allows your IT team to ensure that all your organization's iOS or macOS devices are running the version of those operating systems that you want them to be running, all without any intervention from your end users. You can set devices to automatically update to the latest version, which can then be customized by the timeframe for enforcement and the device group you want to apply it to. Or you can set devices to update to a specific version of the iOS, which gives you an additional level of control on what you're running. In both cases, you can then customize how these updates roll out. Set the updates to impact only certain users or only certain devices with a wide range of customization and control of your enforcement, all without your users needing to take any action on their own.
