I would like to add to what Vincenzo said, that we have been used to doing shifts on rainy days. Last year we challenged Sanremo, this year we decided to challenge the Olympics and the Carnival, but seeing you here so many makes us a great pleasure. So thank you for the sacrifice of time and for being faithful to our event. I would like to start by talking about cinema. We are at the cinema, we talk about cinema. In 2017 the sequel to Blade Runner projected in 2049 the artificial intelligence that was able to control drones and video surveillance systems to control the masses. The Circle talked about the artificial intelligence connected to social media to control the masses with a totalitarian system. This type of cinema, which is called dystopian, basically projected on us a series of anxieties related to the use of technology. We can say that these anxieties have somehow become a reality today. We see every day deepfake operatives that are able to clone humans everywhere and bypass security controls. We see young people with little experience who are able to create malware that are able to hack critical infrastructures. We see a whole series of situations that lead us to see the artificial intelligence as the main vector to identify vulnerabilities, exploit them and create terrible attacks. If we add to all this the fact that there is a geopolitical and international situation that is not entirely peaceful, we can say that reality has overcome the fiction both in terms of scale and speed with which these things are happening. Yes, artificial intelligence scares us, but there is something important to say. Right now, artificial intelligence has its attackers, but so do we. Today, here at Shift, together with our partners, we would like to talk about how Convolt and our partners can make available a technology and processes that allow us to give, since we are in the cinema, a happy ending to this film. Let's move on to the facts. Last year, big tech companies spent $400 billion to invest in artificial intelligence infrastructures. This is no longer a game, it has become something very serious. These big tech companies are expecting a return of $3 trillion in an extremely short period of time, three years. So, the business cases that have been made on artificial intelligence are certainly business cases that will lead us to see a change in the way companies operate. We are already seeing it. From our point of view, we see how data is used in a different way and this is an extremely important factor that we must take into account. On the other hand, we are witnessing an exponential increase in the number of attacks and the incisiveness of the attacks. The figure you see here is equivalent to the third pill in the world after the United States and China. This is a very large system. Three years ago, when I made my first shift and it was raining, we had a pill that corresponded to that of Poland, with all due respect. So, the scale with which this situation is growing, the number of attacks and the impact of these attacks is absolutely exponential, aggravated by a whole series of situations. Increasingly frequent access to the multi-cloud, the situation of repatriation, the situation of data sovereignty and a whole series of other situations, compliance, which make managing protection and defending ourselves from attacks more and more complex. As I said before, these things are happening with an exponential growth, a scale that has never been seen before, not even at the time of the adoption of the Internet. Data is exploding. The use of data is growing at a speed that we are not used to. Analysts are quite in agreement in estimating the amount of data that should be managed by us in Europe from now until 2030 for the sole purpose of the implementation of Artificial Intelligence and data sovereignty policies. We are witnessing an impressive growth in the number of AI agents. Today, the ratio between human agents is 81, so we are in a numerical inferiority. In addition, a whole series of other events are happening that continue to show us that an attack or a disaster or anything that happens within an infrastructure can no longer be isolated, but will have a direct effect on the business of the company, on the structure of the company. So this requires absolutely to be able to react to attacks, to all the situations that arise with the same scale in which these attacks occur. And as far as cyber resilience is concerned, what we see as an important need is to have a consolidation of cyber resilience structures to be able to have uniform policies and to be able to scale compared to the increase in threats we have. These two gentlemen, let's call them that, are the ones who are consuming and generating the greatest amount of data at all. Generative AI continues to produce data on the basis of the data that is provided, which is absolutely important. What is the quality of the data that Generative AI feeds on? And on the other hand, we have AI agents who are able to make decisions. So here we are talking about independent, autonomous agents with unlimited access to the databases of our companies, with substantially infinite permissions and who break any traditional identity control in the field of cyber security. So the situation, even from this point of view, is getting worse and worse and it is necessary to manage these two aspects which are absolutely new. On the other hand, we have the leaders of IT who until yesterday were considered the depositors of innovation. We have gone from the part of digital innovation to the part of AI. Today I am under pressure from the business because the business clearly asks for the fastest possible implementation of AI solutions because they give a competitive advantage. So we absolutely have to take this into consideration. The fact that we have to use AI systems at full speed also leads to a new version of shadow IT, much more dangerous than the previous one because it is not very easily controllable. So all this is happening while those who deal with IT still have to manage legacy systems, lack of skills, lack of resources and budgets that are not growing to support this new workload. It is clear that here a kind of fracture is created. There are organizational gaps, there are technological gaps and this puts us no longer at risk of being attacked, but the certainty that we will be attacked. What we have to ask ourselves today is will I be attacked? How long will I be able to restart and put my company back in the conditions to be able to go back to work? At Convo we have been dealing with this issue for almost 30 years now because we are close to the company's 30th birthday and we have always taken it very seriously with our research and development. Two years ago we raised the level of data protection to cyber resilience and that was the first step. We created a new market and we became leaders thanks above all to you who have chosen us here in Italy and continue to choose us and today we are convinced that we have become the standard but that this is no longer enough to manage the current situation. We are certainly facing a new era an era in which the challenge is to be resilient in an AI environment protecting everything that is the past and to be ready to react using AI to protect our companies. There are three elements that must be considered today. Before we worked so that IT and the security part worked together to identify malware and protect our data by putting resources in common. Today there is one more element which is identity. So for us, what we see important today is to protect data as we have always done to manage the data and then to be able to make an efficient recovery on an enterprise scale. If we combine these three elements in the current architecture we realize that it is extremely complex to manage everything and that current systems can no longer be able to scale simply because we have a whole series of tools that do not speak to each other or that are put in correlation with each other with manual operations. And so this is a situation in which it is very difficult for organizations to be able to make everything work together and to be able to react to the speed that is required at this time. Talking to clients, CISO, CIO around the world the request that is made and the attempt that we know that you are making is to go and insert these three elements within a single platform which is very likely the most important challenge that must be faced at this time to be able to face the challenge of Artificial Intelligence. At Commvault we have also taken this part very seriously and it has been part of our new development and of the ambition that we have today ambition that starts cloning a new term ResOps Resilience Operation. We think that today it is necessary for the net of products to have internal processes in companies that are able to manage resilience all around. So the net of separation between the various vertical organizations that can be inside a company. How do we see it? We see it as a continuous process so ResOps for us is an active process and not passive in which from the beginning we start to discover what the data are their sensitivity, what are the types of access that are made to these data how these data can be made intercept any anomalies that are on the data to isolate them or to try to solve the problems and then prepare for a recovery through a protected area like a clean room where we can perform tests forensic analysis when there are these anomalies that have been found and then finally proceed to restore on an enterprise scale in order to be able to restore everything in a clean and secure way as fast as possible. This is ResOps for us and it brings us what is the heart of today's day the most important announcement the most important release that we have made in our history which is that of Commvault Cloud Unity Commvault Cloud Unity is a platform rewritten from scratch, cloud native able to integrate everything that we said before Why did we call it Unity? We called it Unity because it unites the three elements that we talked about before security, identity and recovery but it allows, as always in our philosophy to be able to manage all the workloads that you have in your systems present, past and also future in any type of source from the cloud on-prem, on the edge on the pipelines, on the stack AI, wherever these are so this is an innovation fundamental for us it is a solution a platform that puts us in a position to be able to really respond to the needs of this moment and in perspective of the future after me, as you have seen from the agenda Domenico and Edwin will go deeper into this solution so I don't want to spoil too much of what their presentation will be but a couple of things I want to say it is a solution that has really been redesigned thinking about the needs of this moment it really integrates all these elements the element of identity let's not confuse it with the identity of the current security agents AI are not recognized by the platforms of identity we, in this solution recognize them we are going to integrate the components of our past with a redesign of the platforms HSX and so it is a solution that really allows you to have a new experience a single platform a single control panel and so the possibility to really give a system of cyber resilience unique and able to support everything you have today and in the future I close here maybe I spoiled too much, sorry and I recommend you to stay here the agenda is very interesting I thank you for listening the day will be long but very interesting you can also know what are your feedback compared to what will be said today now I have the honor to introduce the first guest he is our great partner AWS, I don't think I have to introduce the company it is a company that introduces itself I want to introduce us saying that he is our great partner we are partners, a great partnership not only commercial from a commercial point of view we are partners since last year so a global recognition for us is extremely important but I want to tell you that he is a technological partner we co-invest in research and development we have inactive solutions within AWS with which we work together and we continue on the market to develop more and more innovation on AWS platform I stop here also not to spoil the AWS part
