AV Comparative Certifications that validate the strength of our endpoint detection and response capabilities. What's especially important is that while these certifications were conducted for a product for the EDR, customers received the same validated EDR capabilities through Fortinet's unified endpoint platform for the endpoint. The first certification that we got was AV Comparatives Process Injection Protection Certification. So process injection is one of the most common techniques used by modern attackers. They use it to evade security controls, to hide malicious activity, and to execute fileless attacks. Fortinet successfully detected and prevented all 15 of the 15 advanced process injection and shellcode execution techniques tested, achieving us 100% success rate while also passing all the false positive validation tests. The second certification is the AV Comparatives EDR Detection Validation Certification. This test evaluates how effectively the EDR solution can provide visibility into real-world multi-stage attack scenarios. Fortinet achieved this certification by providing visibility across 12 of the 14 attack stages evaluated, which demonstrated strong detection and investigation capabilities across the attack chain. So all in all, together, these certifications validate both sides of modern endpoint security. Number one, the ability to stop advanced attacks, and number two, the ability to provide deep visibility when security teams need to investigate and respond. These results reinforces Fortinet's commitment to delivering industry-leading protection, detection, and response capabilities through a unified platform. With 40 endpoints, organizations can go beyond and simplify these operations while strengthening the security through single agent, single console, and a unified approach to endpoint protection. And to learn more about these certifications, refer to the blogs and the reports linked in the video. Thank you all for your continued support. We look forward to sharing more innovations and more independent validations in the future. Thank you.

TL;DR

  • Fortinet earned two AV-Comparatives certifications validating its endpoint detection and response capabilities through independent third-party testing.
  • In the Process Injection Protection test, Fortinet achieved a 100% success rate, detecting and preventing all 15 advanced techniques with zero false positives.
  • In the EDR Detection Validation test, Fortinet demonstrated visibility across 12 of 14 real-world multi-stage attack stages, confirming strong investigation capabilities.

Summary

Fortinet announces two new independent certifications from AV-Comparatives that validate the endpoint detection and response capabilities of its FortiEndpoint platform. The first, the AV-Comparatives Process Injection Protection Certification, tested Fortinet against 15 advanced process injection and shellcode execution techniques — methods commonly used by attackers to evade security controls, conceal malicious activity, and execute fileless attacks. Fortinet achieved a perfect 100% detection and prevention rate across all 15 techniques while also passing all false-positive validation tests, demonstrating precision alongside efficacy. The second certification, the AV-Comparatives EDR Detection Validation Certification, assessed visibility across real-world, multi-stage attack scenarios. Fortinet provided coverage across 12 of 14 evaluated attack stages, demonstrating strong detection and investigation capabilities throughout the attack chain. A key point emphasized is that these certifications, though conducted for a standalone EDR product, apply equally to customers using FortiEndpoint — Fortinet's unified endpoint platform — which delivers the same validated capabilities through a single agent and single console architecture. Together, the certifications are positioned as validating both sides of modern endpoint security: the ability to stop advanced attacks and the ability to support deep investigation and response when incidents occur.

FAQ

Do these AV-Comparatives certifications apply to FortiEndpoint customers or only to a separate EDR product?

According to Fortinet, the certifications were conducted for a dedicated EDR product, but customers using FortiEndpoint — Fortinet's unified endpoint platform — receive the same validated EDR capabilities through its single-agent, single-console architecture.

What did Fortinet's EDR Detection Validation result actually cover?

Fortinet provided visibility into 12 of the 14 attack stages evaluated in AV-Comparatives' real-world multi-stage attack scenarios, demonstrating detection and investigation capabilities across the majority of the attack chain.
