Let's start with the basics. In this video, we'll explore the Hoodoo dashboard and walk you through setting up your account preferences. As we go through this video, we encourage you to log into your Hoodoo instance and explore the dashboard yourself to familiarize yourself with the layout. As soon as you log into Hoodoo, this is the screen you will see. The main dashboard is filled with various tiles such as your favorites, recents, and a full activity feed of what users are doing in your instance. Recents and activity feed will populate as you begin to add documentation to Hoodoo, and you'll have the ability to favorite any item for simple navigation. For example, if you have an internal company for your documentation, or you are a technician finding yourself working on a few companies in particular, add them as a favorite to bring them front and center. This is also customizable per technician so they can focus on what's relevant for them. This is eventually what it will look like for you, and you'll see this get populated more as we get through our other videos. You will also notice some tabs on the upper navigation bar. Companies and global, which we will explore next video, along with the central KB, generic articles that make sense to have across all companies, myVault, a personal password manager, and the admin section of Hoodoo. This is also where the global search bar is located which will be accessible no matter where you are in Hoodoo. Whenever I need to quickly find something, I can either click the search bar or use the slash keyboard shortcut to open up search. Jumping into a built out instance, let's quickly show off some functions of Hoodoo search. In this case, I will copy the words host machine out of this article. Now in the search modal, three filters are available to us. Company specific, which allows me to limit results to the company I'm currently within or search globally across all companies. The museum, which allows me to search any archived information. And comprehensive, which allows me to search details that exist deeper within my documentation, past the titles and headings. As I filter on comprehensive, we now see that article shows up in the search results. These search defaults can be customized in your profile settings, which we'll get to shortly. In addition, there are many quick navigation items that are accessible anywhere in Hoodoo, so I can still see things such as my recents and favorites without being on the main dashboard. I also have the ability to see active integrations and perform a resync or send a secure note, zero knowledge and encrypted if I need to. Back to our new instance, let's configure our profile settings. We will start with everyone's favorite, the ability to turn on dark mode. From the profile icon in the upper right corner, you can edit your profile. Here you can set your personal time zone, choose an avatar, select expiration notification trigger dates and set those search defaults that we talked about earlier. Here's also where you can configure 2FA for your instance. Once 2FA is enabled for yourself as a super admin, you can then enforce it for all other users. We highly recommend enforcing 2FA as one of the ways to help keep your company's data secure. In addition to 2FA, in your admin settings, you can also set up SSO or single sign-on to use your own identity provider and create IP access restrictions in the security section of Hoodoo for enhanced security. Now that we've gone through this, it's time for you to configure your own profile settings and other settings you'd like to personalize. Go ahead and update your profile picture, set your time zone and enable 2FA before moving on to the next video. Thank you for watching today. I hope you feel more comfortable navigating the Hoodoo dashboard and setting up your account preferences. See you in the next video.
