as a result I was able to get more people in my corner and help me prepare for a promotion that I was able to take. It kind of makes you feel like you have a home here. For me, it just makes you have a spot where you can feel comfortable around people that kind of look like you. You kind of have more of an adopted family, so to speak. It helps me by getting to know people of different backgrounds. New Shades impacts my work experience because they make me feel part of a group. My hope is to be able to increase our ability to attract diverse talent and also to collaborate with other team members who can bring in different ideas and perspectives through the offerings that New Shades has. New Shades has brought me a sense of community and human connection. For me to be a part of New Shades, for me to be able to collaborate with other African Americans, for me to be able to build friendships and bonds with other African Americans and then allies to be able to educate about my culture is an absolute cherry on top of what I do for my job.
