This is where we dive into the latest updates for Cove Data Protection. In Cove 25.9, we introduced key enhancements that ensure more robust data protection, streamline recovery workflows, and deliver deeper reporting insights. But first, a quick reminder, Cove 25.9 dropped support for VMware ESXi 6.7 and earlier. So make sure that you have upgraded either to a later version of ESXi to continue your host level protection, or consider deploying your backup managers on the individual virtual machines inside of the guest operating system. Now, let's explore what's new. We're excited for enhancements made to the external preview of Linux bare metal recovery. Along with enhancements added to the Linux system state support, this is going to ensure more robust data protection and more rapid recovery. The Linux BMR process is a fully automated way to recover your Linux devices after a disaster, such as a failed system update or corrupted disk layout. Users can now download Cove recovery media directly from the Cove console to perform a seamless recovery. Key enhancements for Linux system state include improved backup stability, expanded support for more Linux distributions, and optimized backup sizes for faster, more cost-effective backups and quicker restores. For macOS devices, we've improved the logic for accessing files and folders. If a permission denied file system error occurs due to either system integrity protection or full disk access permissions, then those backups can still complete normally by either suppressing the simulated errors or by notifying the console about missing permissions if it's due to full disk access not being authorized for the backup manager. Backups can now be restored directly to an existing VM in Azure with the original VM name instead of a temporary assigned name as previously allowed. This allows you to use the existing configuration files, effectively replacing that VM or the boot volume of the VM in line. This will simplify and speed up your restore process. Additionally, you can choose to restore only the OS disk while retaining current data disks and quickly reattach it to a VM for additional time savings. A new one-time restore to Hyper-V option has been introduced. We now allow for your backups to be restored directly as .vhd files. This is going to streamline the process by eliminating the need for manual conversions from VHDX to VHD to be imported or used with other third-party hypervisors. There are several hypervisors out there today that offer native support for mounting .vhd files directly, including Microsoft Hyper-V, Oracle VirtualBox, Citrix XenServer, and QEMU KVM. We've also addressed several customer-reported issues to improve the reliability of our recovery services, specifically cases where low resources triggered a failed open VHD or virtual disk file. Our executive summary reports, ESRs, have entered external preview. You can find those now on the left-hand navigation in the Cove Backup.Management console. These are designed to highlight KPIs and insights for MSPs and IT teams. The ESR now includes refined report content, improved readability, and updated documentation. Create your first report and share with your customers or key stakeholders for easy monthly business reviews. We look forward to you using the feature panel in the upper right corner, the little animated beaker, so that you can provide continued feedback as we refine these reports and address additional feature enhancements before GA. Now, there are several upcoming events that are available for you. If you've got any type of questions or you'd like a personalized tour of some of these key features, please email ask.cove at N-ABLE.com. Also, don't miss out on our upcoming events. We have the Become a Master of Ransomware Response Masterclass on September 24th and a Become a Master of Disaster Recovery Masterclass on September 30th. You can register at enable.com slash events.
