Hi Mike Matchett Small World Big Data. We are here at RSAC 2025 live. We've got a lot of people to talk to with the greatest and latest cybersecurity innovations. We are here now with uh, Keepit . And uh, we're going to talk a little bit about how you secure your cloud data and your critical apps. I assume that's what we're here to talk about. I've got Kim here who's a CISO for Keepit . And he's going to, you know, probably somebody who has to use his own solution. Right. Thank you very much for coming. Uh, yes. We are actually securing your data that you don't think you need to secure your 365 data, your entry ID, that is somewhere up in the cloud. We take it to a data center in your region, close to you, and make sure that you can look at the rack and saying, I have my data here. That's what we do. Okay. So, uh, let's let's peel that down a little bit. Uh, what I mean, I see the list of applications here. Maybe you could just walk us through one of the simple use cases. Why is it more secure, or what's the vulnerability with leaving your data up in the cloud? You can lose access to the cloud. There can be some compliance issues that you need to address so that you actually have again, the data is somewhere up there. So when you talk to your management, when you talk to your board, you can say, but if something happens to the cloud, the O365 solution we have. You actually also have it in a data center close to you. All right. What what keeps you up at night with the vulnerability of all that data? Are you worried about it leaking? Are you worried about it just not being available? What's the major problem for you as a CISO? What keeps me awake at night is that the threat scenario is very abstract, so we cannot foresee what is coming tomorrow. So I'm looking at the preparation and how well prepared are we looking at the data governance model, looking at your ability to recover from a crucial attack? That's what I look into. That's what keeps me awake at night. But what keeps me awake in the daytime during my money. Yeah, yeah. So you're just not sure when today's landscape what the threat actually is going to be tomorrow, looking out at the whole RSAC show and the themes that people are talking about, we hear a lot about AI and supply chain attacks and the rest of it. What theme have you been hearing about from customers that particularly would point them to leveraging? Keepit to solve that challenge? I think the hybrid attacks is a really thing. In Europe. We have a lot of ships cutting cutting cables. We have the big incident in Spain yesterday, two days ago, and there are real things that are happening. You're losing access to something that might be critical to your to your to your enterprise, your organization. And that is what we need to address. And I think that's also what Keepit addresses that you still can access your data. Again in a data center. We have 19 data centers in seven regions and keep expanding. So that's what our customers, they can have confidence in saying even though we lose access to something we still have it here. All right. So it really it really gives you that ability to like almost data protection from the storage side of the world I come from. Right. You've really got a copy of something that's reliable no matter what happens. And I can get access to it. And it's not on my premises. It's in something off site, off site, secure in your city. Um, if you had one piece of advice to give people here at RSA, the RSA conference this year, if you wanted to like, just tell everyone, keep this one thing in mind about what you're doing for security relevant to, uh, you know, being able to restore, particularly your SaaS databases, what would that be? There are two things, actually. One is classify your data and system. Assure that you know what is critical to your business, and then test, test, test. Go in your business continuity plan. Shut off your systems. Or maybe not, at least test your recovery functions. That's really crucial, right? So not not only know what you have, but actually push the button and try and see if you can actually recover it. Because when the power goes out across the entire Iberian Peninsula, you've got some problems and it's too late at that point to be doing testing. Yeah, that's exactly the point. And that is often what people see when you look at the incidents that have happened and are occurring that people have not tested and they have not defined what is critical data. This is what you need to do as a CISO, as an enterprise, to go look at your critical data. So understand your critical data. If someone wants to look a little bit deeper into what you're talking about here, in terms of being able to recover and restore, particularly with the SaaS databases, you probably have a website, but is there anything in particular relevant to what we're talking about? You should you would have them start with. Yeah. We have a report, actually a data governance report that we have made that you can find on our website at WWLP. Com. There's a data governance report on how you sort of work with this data governance and recovery functions. All right. So thank you very much Kim I appreciate it. And take care if you've got if you've got the data out there, you know you're all using hundreds of SaaS apps, right. You need to be able to restore and recover those. So check it out.
Keepit delivers backup and recovery purpose-built for SaaS apps, including Microsoft 365 and Google Workspace. With ransomware rising and compliance mandates tightening, they emphasize immutable backups and fast restore times without complicating IT. Keepit says ditch the legacy hardware and get serious about cloud-to-cloud resilience—because your SaaS data is still your responsibility.
