Hi, Mike Matchett Small World Big Data and we're at RSAC 2025. It's a huge show this year. Cybersecurity is more important than ever and we have Cayosoft with us today. We have Bob Bobel. Bob, I've talked to you just recently about a bunch of stuff. How are you doing today at the show? It's really good. I'm enjoying the show. Yeah. Uh, what do you think is going to be the hottest topics here today? Uh, it's still cybersecurity, as always. And, uh, what people are doing to defend themselves from the ever increasing number of attacks that are happening. Uh, do you think that, uh, there's more vulnerabilities now that, uh, there are different things going on in ransomware and with AI and the rest of it, or is AI starting to help us out? I think we're at the tip of the iceberg. I really do. I think it's starting to become apparent that there are a lot of, of, um, new avenues for people to do exploits, and it's getting easier for them. You can download full blown attacks and run them yourself. I mean, it's crazy. Tell us, just to quickly again remind the audience, what does Carosoft do? So we have management monitoring and recovery software for the Active Directory platforms for large enterprises. So we sort of pick up where you buy your Microsoft products. You want to run them at scale in an enterprise. We add the additional layer there that lets you do that efficiently and securely. All right. And what is vulnerable about Active Directory. What what's gone wrong with it or gone bad with it. Well I'm not sure itself was you know, the product itself was had an inherent problem. It was just designed before cloud. And so as they you know, we saw during the pandemic people moving remote, they started connecting it to the internet. And then with cloud services, it's even driven that further. And the challenge is that you have the technology that was built in the 80s and 90s trying to cope with this brand new web world. So when a user gets compromised out in the remote site, those attackers can use that to move laterally to come in and take over the directory. Once you take over the directory, you have both the keys to the kingdom, and you have the treasure map to where everything is located for for stealing whatever data or encrypting the data or whatever to have the maximum impact you could have. And you know, a lot of people have Active Directory, right? This is this is a pretty wide set problem. Can you tell us a few places, uh, that are sort of dealing with this problem with their Active Directory? Yeah, yeah. So, so Microsoft a long time ago estimated that 80 some percent, 89% of businesses worldwide were using Active Directory. Now that's pretty. Pretty big. Problem. But it's still 85% of businesses. So every business has this problem. It doesn't matter whether you're in health care, you're in finance. It just doesn't matter. It's the same issue for everybody. All right. And uh, who would be like, uh, a primary user of Carosoft? How big a company do you have to be to really benefit from this? Well, we see a breakdown of about maybe 700 employees and above. Um, we just closed a competitive replacement deal for the Internal Revenue Service to help with their directory. Um, so we scale up to that size as well. So so IRS is pretty big we think right. Fairly big big organization. Yeah maybe a little smaller recently but still a very very large organization. We have several like that. So what do you expect to come out of this show. What do you what do you think people are going to have in their mindset coming out of RSAC this year? Well, I hope they realize that the problem is just as bad as it was last year, and that there are a lot of vendors doing a lot of really good work to help them protect and defend their environment so they don't get put out of business. So you're sort of best practice recommendation then, if someone had one key takeaway was doing this and said, I got to go home and do something about cybersecurity. What should I do? First thing I would look at is realize that it's not if you're going to be attacked, it's when you're going to be attacked and start preparing. Start preparing. Well, thank you so much, Bob, for for being here. Great to see you live in person at the show instead of just online virtually. Take care. Small World Big Data audience. We'll talk to you soon.
