Customers can purchase Nutanix licenses directly, which are fully portable. They can also choose between pay-as-you-go and cloud commit options for more flexibility and cost predictability. The pay-as-you-go model allows organizations to build and tear down infrastructure as needed, paying only for the resources used. On the other hand, cloud commit offers better terms and predictable costs over a specified timeframe. The bare metal costs also provide similar options for payment. Nutanix supports marketplace integration across public clouds, enabling customers to leverage their agreed cloud commits for both infrastructure and Nutanix software. CFOs appreciate the predictability of licensing, as it allows for better budget planning compared to the unpredictability of cloud costs. Nutanix aims to strike a balance between public and private cloud options, providing customers with a rich and flexible licensing journey for their workloads.
