In terms of networking, Verge.IO provides all the features found in NSX at no extra cost, including full layer two and three functionality. It supports the use of commodity switches, resulting in substantial cost savings. The storage aspect incorporates global deduplication, which is built into the operating system. This approach resembles blockchain technology, allowing for powerful cloning and snapshot capabilities. Verge.IO's IO Clone feature enables the instantaneous copying of entire petabyte-sized volumes by referencing identical nodes. Unlike complex snapshot structures, these independent blocks can be retained indefinitely, restored instantly, and repurposed as needed.
