There are over 25,000 announced vulnerabilities that need to be patched to avoid compromise, with around two-thirds of those vulnerabilities considered high criticality and needing immediate patching. This amounts to a large number of threats daily, ranging from ransomware hackers to bank stealing hackers and hacktivists, in addition to hundreds of millions of malware programs. The primary challenge of proper defense is the overwhelming number of threats and patches that need to be addressed every day, making it difficult to keep up with the constant barrage of attacks.
