Did you ever send money to the Nigerian prince? Probably not but it's interesting that the once joked about scam has been replicated into a highly sophisticated tool. Today hackers target business executives through unsuspecting users who inadvertently click on seemingly innoccuous links from emails that look safe. Today hackers simulate emails coming from LinkedIn, Dropbox, Pizza Hut, ADP, even from corporate execs. They study an org chart and inexpensively simulate emails as though sent from those execs. The links are connected to malware created by bad actors, frequently abroad and with very little recourse to catch and prosecute them.
