Let's explore how quick and simple it is to AI-enable your enterprise applications, from setup to deployment, in just a few clicks. First, let's explore the App Catalog inside the Sequence AI Gateway, where you can view all the applications that can be connected to an MCP server in minutes. Users can browse more than 140 supported apps that can be enabled for AI agents like Cloud or Copilot to securely access and interact with enterprise data and workflows. All without custom coding. Let's say you want to enable AI agents to connect to your Atlassian Confluence knowledge base. We can select Confluence API endpoints based on the functionality we want to enable. Each selected endpoint becomes a tool that the AI agent can securely use through the MCP server, eliminating the need for manual coding or configuration. Choosing the endpoints defines what actions AI agents are permitted to take within Confluence, ensuring organizational control, compliance, and visibility. To further control what AI agents can access and do, the Sequence AI Gateway introduces Agent Personas. Here, we create a Confluence page assistant persona by defining its role in plain English, limiting the agent to only search and summarize Confluence pages, without editing or deleting them. Now we can finalize the MCP server configuration and choose how it will be deployed. We specify the server name, apply security guardrails, and whether you want to deploy it as a prototype or if it's ready for production immediately. Finally, we deploy the MCP server, either in a private cloud or as a fully managed deployment in the Sequence cloud. This ensures a secure, scalable setup that's ready for enterprise use in just minutes. Here we configure how AI agents authenticate when interacting with the connected application through the MCP server. The Sequence AI Gateway supports a wide range of enterprise-grade authentication methods, including OAuth 2.0 to meet each organization's security and compliance requirements. This flexibility allows enterprises to enforce consistent security standards across all MCP-enabled applications, ensuring that AI agents only access authorized systems and data. And now the MCP server has been successfully created. The application is fully configured and ready to be accessed by AI agents through the Sequence AI Gateway.

TL;DR

  • Cequence AI Gateway enables enterprises to connect 140+ applications to AI agents through MCP servers without writing code, using a catalog-driven approach with pre-configured API endpoints.
  • Agent Personas allow organizations to define AI agent roles in plain English, enforcing granular access controls like limiting agents to read-only operations or specific data subsets.
  • The platform supports enterprise authentication methods including OAuth 2.0 and offers flexible deployment options—private cloud or fully managed—with security guardrails built into the configuration process.

Summary

This demonstration showcases the Cequence AI Gateway's workflow for connecting enterprise applications to AI agents through the Model Context Protocol (MCP). The platform provides an App Catalog with over 140 supported applications that can be AI-enabled without custom coding. Using Atlassian Confluence as an example, the demo walks through selecting API endpoints to define agent capabilities, creating Agent Personas to enforce role-based boundaries, configuring enterprise-grade authentication including OAuth 2.0, and deploying MCP servers either in private cloud or as fully managed instances. The entire process—from browsing available applications to production deployment—is designed to be completed in minutes through a guided interface that emphasizes security guardrails, compliance controls, and organizational visibility throughout the configuration workflow.

FAQ

What is the Model Context Protocol (MCP) and how does Cequence use it?

MCP is a protocol that allows AI agents to securely interact with enterprise applications. Cequence AI Gateway uses MCP servers as the bridge between AI agents like Claude or Copilot and enterprise systems, with each MCP server configured to expose specific API endpoints as tools the AI can use while enforcing security and access controls.

How long does it take to deploy an MCP server with Cequence AI Gateway?

The demonstration shows the entire process—from selecting an application in the catalog to deploying a production-ready MCP server—can be completed in minutes. The workflow includes endpoint selection, persona creation, authentication configuration, and deployment without requiring custom code development.
