Dashboard and Backup Management
The demonstration begins with the Veeam Data Cloud dashboard, which provides comprehensive visibility into backup operations for Microsoft 365 environments. The interface displays backup status, restore point counts, storage consumption metrics, and user activity tracking. Administrators can monitor license utilization across 7, 30, or 90-day periods, identify top storage consumers, and review recent user operations. The backup job configuration allows flexible targeting—administrators can protect entire tenants or selectively include specific users, groups, SharePoint sites, or Teams. Exclusion rules enable granular control, allowing organizations to define comprehensive backup policies while excluding specific objects from protection.
Search, Restore, and Entra ID Protection
The platform offers advanced search capabilities with keyword-based queries across mailboxes and restore points, including multi-keyword searches for complex data discovery scenarios. Restore operations are application-specific (Outlook, OneDrive, SharePoint, Teams) with granular item-level recovery—users can restore individual folders, calendar items, or memos to original locations, alternate users, or download locally. Role-based access control enables delegation of restore operations to specific users without granting full administrative privileges. The Entra ID protection component extends backup coverage to identity infrastructure, protecting users, groups, administrative units, roles, applications, and audit logs. The compare-restore feature displays property-level differences between current production data and historical restore points, enabling precise recovery of identity configuration changes.
